Elena brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to her role as CEO of The Ohio Art Company. Since taking on her current position in early 2015, she has spearheaded the company’s revitalization as a full service metal lithography and manufacturing operation after overseeing the sale of the company’s toy assets (Etch A Sketch) to Spin Master in 2016. Since then, Ohio Art has evolved into one of the country’s leading independent lithography operations with new, state of the art UV printing equipment and the expansion into metal stamping. Elena represents the third generation of her family’s business and shares responsibility for the organization with her cousin, Martin Killgallon, III, President. In October 2020, Ohio Art will be celebrating 112 years of continuous operation in Northwest Ohio.

Before joining Ohio Art, Elena held the position of senior vice president of marketing at Robert Half International. Her global responsibilities included marketing and branding for Robert Half’s seven business units and supporting 13,000 employees across 400+ locations in 20 countries. Her experience and leadership skills were honed during her appointment as director of marketing for Leapfrog in 1999 and as director of marketing at Ohio Art in 1995.

Elena graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and has completed executive education courses at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. She is a board member of the Williams County United Way, the Bryan Community Hospital & Wellness Center and, just recently joined the board of the International Metal Decorating & Printing Association (IMDPA). Elena and her husband, Rick DeMars, reside in both Bryan, Ohio and Tempe, Arizona and share their lives (and their couches) with three golden retrievers and one miniature dachshund.
