Chairman of the Board
Lloyd Companies
Craig R. Lloyd is founder and board chairman of Lloyd Companies, a leading regional full-service development, real estate, construction, property management and hospitality company.

Founded in 1972, Lloyd has grown the Sioux Falls-based firm from one multifamily property to a portfolio of more than 6,000 apartment units and many of the region’s finest office and retail centers.

With extensive knowledge of site selection and acquisition, land planning, government relations, real estate negotiations and financing, Lloyd has overseen development of more than 7,000 apartment units, 2 million square feet of commercial space and more than 700 acres of land for mixed use development.

Thanks to Lloyd’s vision, the company’s signature projects have transformed brownfield properties in downtown Sioux Falls, including Uptown at Falls Park, a 7.4 acre, $65 million mixed use development on the site of a former salvage yard and landfill at the gateway of the city’s namesake park.

In the depths of the Great Recession, Lloyd further invested in downtown Sioux Falls, redeveloping a former riverfront lumberyard into a hospitality, office and dining destination.

And the company’s commitment to the city’s core remains as strong as ever, with plans to develop an aging manufacturing site into a premier hospitality, office, residential and retail center.

Lloyd’s career also has included development of corporate headquarters, state-of-the-art data centers and first-in-market retail developments for organizations such as Midcontinent Communications, Esurance, Meta Financial Group, Hilton Garden Inn, Home Depot, Fleet Farm, Menards and Century Theatres.

Lloyd is a licensed real estate broker in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
